The Microcredit Regulatory Authority (MRA) has been established by the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh under the "Microcredit Regulatory Authority Act 2006” to promote and foster sustainable development of microfinance sector through creating an enabling environment for NGO-MFIs in Bangladesh. MRA is the central body to monitor and supervise microfinance operations of NGO-MFIs. License from the Authority is mandatory to operate microfinance operations in Bangladesh as an NGO.

Women’s Day Celebration 2017 At MRA

International Women’s Day, 2017 was celebrated on March 8, 2017 in Microcredit Regulatory Authority (MRA). Mr. Amalendu Mukherjee, Executive Vice Chairman (EVC) of MRA, Mr. Ali Noor, Director, Md. Shazzad Hossoin, Director of MRA and all female officers and staffs were participated at the program. Mr. Mukherjee delivered his speech focusing on the social, economic, cultural and political achievement of the women of our country. Yet action is needed to accelerate gender parity. He also urged to eliminate all forms of violance against women and girls in public and private sphere which is a target of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG). Along with EVC other two Directors also wishes and greets the female employees of MRA.

 Training Program for MFIs of Bogra region on Microcredit Operation and Management


Mr. Amalendu Mukherjee, Executive Vice Chairman of Microcredit Regulatory Authority delivered his speech as chief guest in a two-day long regional program for MFIs on “Microcredit Operation and Management” at TMSS training center, Bogra on March 11-12, 2017. High officials and resource persons of MRA shared their views on different issues like Rules, Regulations, Budgeting, Risk Management, Internal Audit, Office management, citizen charter etc of MFIs. About 79 participants from 53 different MFIs working in Bogra, Sirajgonj and Gaibandha district attended this program.
